the lag would occur in the game while being played, not in the recording. i really hope you are not suggesting that the players in the final will be forced to play with a 10 sec command delay... :zombie:

what spadel is suggesting is the best option imo, have vods of the recordings. i already told chicks that i would be willing to make a vod of the semi-finals/finals recorded games.
we had touneys on plenty of fps games lagless. the guy upping from the obs isnt uping to the players anything. it would be no diff than an obs game without the observer sharing. in fps games lag is devistating so we wouldn't have em on wolf.tv or w/e game we were playing if it had even a slight effect on gameplay.

aoe3 must be an exception, I just dont know how. You have a better idea than I.

And no not a delay for the players. nothing should be done if it might effect the players who made it to the top.
On the other hand, having an admin in as an obs might be good for instant feedback on dq or re's because of a glitch or bug.

Ok, Im the same Veni Fard was referring to.

I think streaming the semi-finals/finals is a very nice idea. From what ive seen in activity here (including the number of views of recorded games), I think a lot of people would be interested in seeing a live stream. A live stream has some benefits over recorded games and VODS and of course people are always interested in seeing things live. You dont see high level games like this every day.

I agree that the games should not lagg cause i find that the worst kind of games and means you cant micro very well. Such high level games shouldnt be decided by bad luck with lagg. However lagg is just because of noob pcs or connections, not becasue of people observing the game etc. I played good 4v4's without lagg with people from the other side of the world (they were japanese not south americans though :D)

I stream for some time now, in 1080p HD. It requires a lot of the pc and connection, but mine is good enough. While both live streaming and fraps (vod) require a lot of the pc, a live stream doesnt require so much of the harddisk which is often the bottleneck. However it requires more of your connection (upload) but since mine is 10mpbs that shouldnt be a problem (: The stream doesnt lagg and nor does the game. I also played some 3v3 with japanese people and streamed that as well. Videos are saved if gg's: http://www.twitch.tv/venividivici_w

I could stream the games if people want it. If there is someone else we could perhaps do some commentary together via teamspeak or so, but that does mean we need to be sure the observer has a good enough pc not to lagg the game ^^

its not something most have, cause this its quite costly. However Im lucky and very grateful that they extended the fiber network of the university to some student residences 33! Because, as we all know, students need good internet for their hard work and study :D

Since just one lag can ruin an entire game, i totally disagree with what erik or someone else said.
It's the final, there should be 0 lag, isn't it obvious?
a live stream with like 2 ppl commentaring would be a great idea :D!
